The managing director of asset management at WealthStone, Inc., Brian Stertzer oversees all aspects of portfolio management, including tactical and strategic asset allocation. An active member of his community outside of work, Brian Stertzer supports the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club in South Carolina. Since 1974, the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club has worked to create productive, healthy communities. In addition to its many local programs, the organization supports numerous international programs, including The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG). Rotary Clubs have been providing funding to SADAG for several years and help the mental health organization address one of South Africa’s largest problems: youth suicide. The largest mental health support and advocacy NGO in Africa, SADAG is responsible for running a widely recognized school program focused on suicide prevention. Through this program, counselors visit schools in South Africa and meet with students in their classrooms. Students listen to presentations from these counselors and are given the chance to ask questions about depression and suicide. Participating students then receive a wristband with a helpline number, and the school receives a supply of books that reinforce the education provided by the counselors. Although this suicide prevention program is run at a minimal cost, SADAG relies on sponsorships and donations to continue operating since the government keeps cutting mental health program funding.

A resident of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Brian Stertzer has served WealthStone, Inc., as managing director of asset management for the last decade. Among his many accomplishments at the firm, Brian Stertzer helped unveil the new WealthStone Armada service in 2010. Recognizing an emerging market for multi-discretionary investment consultants, WealthStone created the Armada service to help its clients better manage their asset portfolios. As an example, this solution benefits those seeking to employ a team of advisors for the investment of earnings from a recent business sale. These individuals may seek the help of multiple investment advisors with different expertise for such reasons as lowered hedge risk. The WealthStone Armada solution helps clients accomplish these goals with a number of unique client benefits. Through the Armada Advisor Selection process, clients not only use their own preferred consultants, but they can also pull from WealthStone’s array of approved specialists. In addition, Armada facilitates the request for proposal (RFP) process for its clients. Requiring sample portfolios and questionnaire completion from each advisor helps in ensuring the competence of the team. Armada's Universal Investment Policy statement also offers greater team accountability by carefully controlling spending and emphasizing risk-adjusted returns over simple returns. Since 2006, experienced wealth-management professional Brian Stertzer has worked as the managing director of asset management at WealthStone, Inc. An involved member of his local community, Brian Stertzer actively participates in charitable initiatives of the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club in South Carolina.
In pursuit of its mission to promote a healthy and productive community, the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club oversees a variety of projects designed to meet a broad spectrum of needs. Along with a number of other Rotary Clubs in the southeastern United States, the Hilton Head Club supports the Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust (CART). Launched by the Sumter South Carolina Rotary Club in 1995, the CART Fund provides seed money for exploratory and developmental Alzheimer’s disease research projects. Currently, every Rotary Club in Georgia and the Carolinas and several other clubs throughout the United States support CART through member donations. Since its founding, the CART Fund has awarded 29 grants, totaling $5,200,000, to cutting-edge research. |
